Here are a few steps to take to make your wedding planning easier and more enjoyable no matter what stage you are in the planning process during Covid-19.
Don’t panic. With so much uncertainty and craziness, it can be easy to feel scared and overwhelmed about how covid can impact your wedding. Those feelings are completely valid and understandable! Try not to panic though; while everything is uncertain at this time, they will eventually normalize. Rest assured you will get to have the wedding you've always dreamed of. Unfortunately, your wedding may just be at a little later of a date than you had anticipated.
Practice compassion and patience. This is a tough time for everyone, make sure to practice compassion and patience throughout the process. Whether it's compassion and patience for yourself, your loved ones, partner or your wedding vendors, being understanding will make things easier for you.
Be flexible. The more flexible you are with your wedding planning during this tough time, the less stressful it will be for you. Allow yourself the flexibility to make changes to your wedding plans which can include venue change, date change or even a small and personal elopement.
Be diligent. Don't wait to make necessary changes to your wedding plans until the last moment when future dates are booked for venues and most of your guests have expressed concern for your upcoming date. Plan far enough ahead that if the need arises, you can reschedule your big day and still have the same vendors. As wedding photographers, all of our 2020 weddings have rescheduled into 2021 which has filled the calendar for next wear. If you wait too long, you may not be able to reschedule your favorite venue and vendors.
Find a supportive community. Remember that we are all in this together and that everyone is feeling the impact of this pandemic. If you are feeling down, reach out to fellow bride-to-be's and seek advice from them. Also lean on family members who may have great ideas on pressing forward with your wedding planning. Remember that this to shall pass and you will get to have the wedding that you have always dreamed of.
